Home Organic expands towards rainwater harvesting
What has always been a husband and wife hobby on the weekend has turned into a flourishing business. Home Organic was founded in April 2009 by Andrew and Karen Donkin who specialise in instant, monkey proof veggie and herb garden units.
Home Organic provides all the tools, equipment and support necessary to successfully grow veggies and herbs at home. It’s not just healthier and more nutritious, but also a great relaxing hobby, not to mention a contribution to minimising carbon footprint and control chemicals, fertilisers and pesticides use, thus ensuring crops are 100% organic and safe.
But Home Organic wanted to do more within the eco environment and founded Every Drop Counts Rainwater Harvesting systems, perfect for the use of lawn watering, toilet cisterns, washing machines, washing cars, saving on sewage costs, and swimming pool top-ups. Properly treated rainwater can also serve as emergency drinking water or even primary drinking water if no other source is available.
Andrew Donkin, with two degrees in Mechanical Engineering and ex-Toyota engineer with a love for green innovation, wanted to slowly reduce his carbon footprints and improve sustainable living by starting Every Drop Counts.
Andrew combined his skills and experience to design this effective, economical and practical solution to capturing and utilising rainfall. Every Drop Counts offers complete fitted home rainwater harvesting systems which comprise of a capturing, storage and distribution system.
Every installation varies, thus all installations require a site visit to ensure the optimum design and system is chosen to best suit consumers’ needs, home style and design.
